Business Tips:
TRACTION (EOS – Entrepreneurial Operating
System)
Our
management is implementing a new system called “Traction”. It will provide
direction over the next year through a wonderful system. We look forward to
sharing it with you here. We hope you will take the journey with us.
~10 year target~
It is found that organizations that have
endured for decades share another common practice: They all set massive 10- to
25-year goals. Collins and Porras refer to these as BHAGs—Big, Hairy, Audacious
Goals—and define them as having “a long-term vision so daring in its scope as
to seem impossible.”
That’s one of the main differences
between a 10-year target and any shorter ones you might set. This is the one
larger-than-life goal that everyone is working toward, the thing that gives
everyone in the organization a long-range direction. Once your 10-year target
is clear, you and your leadership team will start doing things differently in
the here and now so as to get you there.
“You must focus on ends, rather than means.”
Your long-term target is that end he is describing. He continues, “It I scrucial
to have a crystal clear picture of what you want to accomplish … Rivet your
attention on that spot where you are to land at the end of your quantum leap …
Once you do that, it’s almost as if you magnetize yourself to the ways and
means involved in the methodology for getting there. Solutions begin to appear.
Answers come to you.”

Personal
Tips:
~ Take risks and embrace failure~
"Most people wake
up in the morning determined to succeed without failure. But I believe that the
real path to success is blazed through the trail of failed attempts. The probability
of success is greater, and more likely to happen consistently, by gaining
knowledge from lessons learned along the way. Keep a 'lessons learned' log. Be
honest with not only what went well, but also what could've been better, and
set goals to improve next time. By celebrating failures as successes, you are
sure to walk away with a better understanding than where you first
started."

Tools & Tech I am using:
~Habits
and rituals~
Habits are
those things that you put on autopilot in your life using your subconscious
mind to guide you. A great book on this concept is The "Ant and the Elephant" by
Vince Poscente. The book outlines how powerful your subconscious mind is while
moving toward your envisioned goals and God’s plan for your life. A couple of
habits you might consider would be planning your week out in advance. Setting
an ideal schedule and week that will help you put your daily times on
autopilot. Getting into an exercise, food, and rest routine are also immensely
powerful. There are many things that you can make habit. Just remember –
garbage in, garbage out. So, continue to learn, grow, and set new habits that help
you embrace the call God has on your life.
Life Skills:
A
Coach
·
Cormac and his personal trainer: “I only work with the
best”.
·
“I have no time for people not prepared to do the hard work.”
·
Is given permission to hold me accountable for my own actions.
·
Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, Steve Jobs, Michael Dell all have two
things in common – they have been leaders of their respective fields, and they
each have a coach. The best in the world have coaches. Is it
coincidence? We are not strong enough mentally to keep up the hard work
and discipline over the long haul to reach excellence. We need people
around us who hold us accountable and push us to stretch. Tony Nadal, the
coach of Rafa Nadal, says that his role is to ensure “Effort and Commitment” –
not tennis skills, not better strokes, not how to get fit.
Notable quotes: They are
italicized above.
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in
Christ Jesus
2 Timothy 1:7
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and
self-control.
Colossians 3:12
Put
on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts,
kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,
Luke 2:8-12
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping
watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to
them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be
afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a
Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You
will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Something I want you to know:
Merry
Christmas and Happy New Year. It was a record year.
