Business Tips:
TRACTION (EOS – Entrepreneurial Operating System)
Our management is implementing a new system called “Traction”. It will provide direction over the next year through a wonderful system. We look forward to sharing it with you here. We hope you will take the journey with us.
~ Roles & Accountability~
When you are reading through the Traction book. You map out your entire organization using the Accountability Chart structure. Illustrate all of the functions in your organization and which function they report to, and then list the five major roles of that function. When you’re finished, the Accountability Chart should look like an organizational chart, with five bullets that illustrate the major roles of each function. Important note: The Accountability Chart will clarify function, role, and reporting structure, but it will not define communication structure. Your communication should flow freely across all lines and departments where necessary, creating an open and honest culture. With each position’s accountability clear and communication crossing all departments, you will avoid cross-departmental issues. The Accountability Chart should in no way create silos or divisions.
This process has been an amazing upgrade to a normal hierarchy chart. Taking that to the meeting pulse, people analyzer, GWC (Get it, Want it, and Capacity to do it) and have been revelations to us in continuing to grow our business’.

Personal Tips:
~Challenge Your Perspective~
"I have a daily habit of being intentional about connecting with a diverse array of people and listening to them. There are many frames of reference, conflicting opinions and different angles to every issue. It's critical to seek out additional ways of thinking and find people who challenge your perspectives. This allows you to refine and expand your own perspectives of both your business and the world around you."
--Peter Brussard, VP of product for Bridge by Instructure, which provides learning platforms used by more than 30 million people
Tools & Tech I am using:
How to Read
There is a a great book called: Turn The Page: How to Read Like a Top Leader by Chris Brady (you can find it on Amazon). I have used it for years. He outlines how reading is action, you should read the greats, and that leaders are readers. Each part have some great tips. Writing in books, start with a question, begin with a plan, argue with the author and yourself, and read several books at once. Grab a copy of this book – you won’t regret it.

Life Skills:

~Personal Finances in order~

Delayed gratification is necessary.  Nobody soaked in debt will ever be able to generate the focus to deliver impact in the important areas of their life.
The test that has the most correlation with success in life is a simple test devised by psychologists.  They bring a child into a room and sit them down.  The child is presented with a sweet.  The adult then says that they need to leave the room.  The child is most welcome to eat the sweet, but if it is still there when the adult returns, the child will receive 2 sweets.  50% of children cannot resist temptation and eat the one sweet, losing the opportunity to double their outcomes.  The children that don’t eat the sweet do not sit there staring at it – they have learned to avoid looking at the temptation, they have learned strategies to manage themselves.
Accumulate education => Accumulate capital => Generate income => Grow expenses inside the limit of passive income.  Freedom = passive income > expenses.  Slave = 90% income as salary.  Keep expenses low, generate assets.

Notable quotes: They are italicized above.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Something I want you to know:
Find a purposeful role to play, be accountable to the team, challenge your perspective, learn to read, and make sure your personal finances are in order.

Business Tips : TRACTION (EOS – Entrepreneurial Operating System) Our management is implementing a new system called “Traction”. It will provide direction over the next year through a wonderful system. We look forward to sharing it with you here. We hope you will take the journey with us. ~Telling the Story~ Some time ago, a friend of mine and his wife visited a major Maui tourist attraction called The Road to Hana. It comprised a long and winding road that, over the course of hours, took them through breathtaking scenery, waterfalls, cliffs, mountains, and beaches. At the end, there was nothing but the small town of Hana, with one gas station. When they finally arrived, my friend’s wife was very upset. She said, “We drove all of this way for this?” She missed the point. The Road to Hana is about the journey, not the destination. Don’t make the same mistake with The EOS Process. The journey of building a great business is not about the destination at all. Of course, you...

Business Tips : TRACTION (EOS – Entrepreneurial Operating System) Our management is implementing a new system called “Traction”. It will provide direction over the next year through a wonderful system. We look forward to sharing it with you here. We hope you will take the journey with us. ~Traction~ The vision is clear, the right people are in the right seats, data is managed, you’re solving issues, you have defined your way of doing business and everyone is following it. Creating accountability, discipline and execution is where most weakness reveals itself. Traction is the ability to take a visionaries head out of the clouds and place it into clear action. Many are held back for the fear of creating discomfort, but with each hard step towards systematic success, things become straightforward even with contingencies and the tremendous peace of traction. From no accountability, poor communication, stagnation, chaos you will find just the opposite with traction. Accountability...
