Personal
Tips:
GIFT OF LOVE - Happy Valentine’s Day.
Very recently, Reverend Billy Graham passed. One of my favorite quotes
from him was “It’s the Holy Spirit’s job to convict, God’s job to judge, and my job
to love.”
We have lost a great leader in Mr. Graham. I only hope that we will
continue his legacy of passion and purpose in our own lives.
“…I learned that loving money leads to a hollow, empty existence. But
when you learn how to love people and use money, everything is in its proper
perspective...When we truly love others, our love makes each of us a different
person, and it makes each one we love a different person too.”
This is the ultimate gift to care for others more than
you care for yourself and to live for others more than you live for yourself.
The Gift of Love: Love is a
treasure for which we can never pay. The only way we keep it is to give it
away.
“Anything good, honorable, and desirable in life is based on love.
Anything bad or evil is simply life without the love involved.” ― Jim Stovall, The Ultimate Gift
Life Skills:
Faith, Family, Fitness,
Finances, Friends, Fun, Following, Freedom; we call these the 8F’s in life.
Many of these categories can tell one where their priorities are in life by
measuring the time one would spend in one of the above categories. I know I
don’t have it all figured out, but I have a lot of great sources that speak
into these items and I welcome your comments. Please feel free to drop us a
line concerning any of them.
This year Google says the top issues
that face the world are…. SURVEY SAYS….
Relational
Issues; Money; Health issues; Anxiety over finding or losing loved ones; Religious
questions; Concerns about death
Health
Issues Check it out in Chapter 2
of The Magic of Thinking Big by Dr. David J. Schwartz, Ph.D.
In the book that I have read
over and over for the last 10 years it references: How to Lick Health Excusitis
1.
Refuse to talk
about your health – talking about health is like putting fertilizer on weeds
2.
Refuse to WORRY
about your health. That doesn’t mean to not attend to it, but don’t let it
defeat you.
3.
Be
genuinely grateful that your health is as good as it is. “I felt sorry for myself because
I had ragged shoes until I met a man who had not feet.”
4.
Remind yourself
often, “It’s better to wear out than rust out.” Life is yours to
enjoy. Don’t waste it. Don’t pass up living by thinking yourself into a
hospital bed. The movie Pollyanna was a great example of someone thinking
themselves into being sick and Pollyanna woke her up with her approach to life.
Notable quotes: They are italicized above.
Something I want you to know:
I know it’s been nasty weather. With nasty
weather often come bad moods and dreary hearts. Try to find a way to be a light
of positivity to other people around you. Give others a reason to want to work
with you and do things for you. I think you will find it pays dividends.
