OCTOBER 2017

Business Tips:
·         Do the time – no one succeeds immediately, everyone was once a beginner, Steve Jobs – “if you look closely, most overnight successes took a long time.”
·         Learn from mistakes – failure is not final, and you have wasted a good screw up if you don’t learn from it – use mistakes and failures as free lessons on your journey to success

Personal Tips:
·         Educate – Our jobs are not to just work for a paycheck, but to become better through our education in what each one of us do. When education shows up in better results, we should expect to progress in position, pay, and prosperity. However, the same is true to those that choose not to educate themselves or take some time to teach someone willing to listen. Be on the search on both how you can educate yourself on something new and teach someone in your team something new.
·         Forgive – Give your folks a clean slate when they are less than compliant. It’s about them, not us. Always give them the opportunity to impress you, so don’t continually scold them for being less than perfect. Notice and appreciate when they’ve made an effort in their work and relationship. Frankly, forgiveness from those whom are better at the task at hand may be the only form of self-esteem adjustment some folks will ever get. Obviously continual ongoing transgressions deserve discipline, but better to error with grace over law.

Life Skills:
Faith, Family, Fitness, Finances, Friends, Fun, Following, Freedom; we call these the 8F’s in life. Many of these categories can tell one where their priorities are in life by measuring the time one would spend in one of the above categories.
Fun
There seems to be many definitions of what fun means. For many, fun is defined in what brings them pleasure. I want to bring you some perspective from someone much smarter than I. The quote was….to be happy you must give it. It took me a while to understand what that meant until I realized in myself and in those around me that sought out pleasure. It was our way to exit from the stress and daily grind of life. I found that those pleasures just created an addiction to things that leave us empty and just wanting more of the brainwashed idea that these pleasures will fill us.
Fun now becomes different and deeper in its meaning. To be happy, you must give it. It is seriously fulfilling in your efforts to bring quality family life to children, giving your parents or friends some unexpected time, serve at a homeless shelter, or spending time with your favorite pet. When you give happy, you truly feel the impact and fulfilment of what I believe that God has created for us to enjoy. So don’t just buy into the culture and its “pleasure yourself” message. Look for ways to truly experience fulfillment and have fun by giving happiness.

Notable quotes:
·         Your growth scares people who don’t want to change.
·         The only way God can show people He’s in control is to put us in situations we can’t control
·         Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm – Winston Churchill
·         You have to learn to enjoy the process of reaching the achievement

Something I want you to know:

Each of us live this life based circumstances, experiences, decisions, and the worldview we hold which naturally creates habits that we approach life with. My challenge to you is to seek first to understand others. When you realize that others bring their own life to our relationships, work, and families we begin to realize that we can build community and culture, or we can be a source of separation. In our culture today, we see division, animosity, and aggressive oppositions. I want you to know, this does not have to be the case. Outside of physical harm in relationships/organizations/countries, etc, seeking first to understand is an important skill to create a culture of unity, truth, and freedom. You can either be a force for good or part of the problem. May you choose wisely.

Business Tips : TRACTION (EOS – Entrepreneurial Operating System) Our management is implementing a new system called “Traction”. It will provide direction over the next year through a wonderful system. We look forward to sharing it with you here. We hope you will take the journey with us. ~Telling the Story~ Some time ago, a friend of mine and his wife visited a major Maui tourist attraction called The Road to Hana. It comprised a long and winding road that, over the course of hours, took them through breathtaking scenery, waterfalls, cliffs, mountains, and beaches. At the end, there was nothing but the small town of Hana, with one gas station. When they finally arrived, my friend’s wife was very upset. She said, “We drove all of this way for this?” She missed the point. The Road to Hana is about the journey, not the destination. Don’t make the same mistake with The EOS Process. The journey of building a great business is not about the destination at all. Of course, you...

Business Tips : TRACTION (EOS – Entrepreneurial Operating System) Our management is implementing a new system called “Traction”. It will provide direction over the next year through a wonderful system. We look forward to sharing it with you here. We hope you will take the journey with us. ~Traction~ The vision is clear, the right people are in the right seats, data is managed, you’re solving issues, you have defined your way of doing business and everyone is following it. Creating accountability, discipline and execution is where most weakness reveals itself. Traction is the ability to take a visionaries head out of the clouds and place it into clear action. Many are held back for the fear of creating discomfort, but with each hard step towards systematic success, things become straightforward even with contingencies and the tremendous peace of traction. From no accountability, poor communication, stagnation, chaos you will find just the opposite with traction. Accountability...
