Family

Family
In human context, a family (from Latin: familia) is a group of people affiliated by consanguinity, affinity, or co-residence. In most societies it is the principal institution for the socialization of children. Anthropologists most generally classify family organization as matrilocal (a mother and her children); conjugal (a wife, husband, and children, also called nuclear family; and consanguinal (also called an extended family) in which parents and children co-reside with other members of one parent's family.

At Christmas, I was thinking about all of these statistics. How can society overcome so much negative? We can.....

In 2010, 66 percent of children ages 0–17 lived with two married parents, down from 77 percent in 1980. We can.....promote marriage.

In 1960, only 9% of children in the United States lived with single parents. By 1995 that figure rose to 27%. We can.....promote the family unit.

Ninety percent of Americans believe children should live in the same home with their mother and father. We can.....make this happen.

The fathers of over 1 million children in the United States are in prison. We can.....rehabilitate them.

In 1970, there were about 4 million divorced Americans. By 1998, the figure rose to over 19 million We can.....teach commitment.

#3 In the United States, one-fourth of all the income is brought in by 1 percent of the people. We can.....make that number bigger without spreading out the wealth.

#4 Rising prices are putting an incredible amount of stress on American family budgets. According to John Williams of Shadow Government Statistics, if the U.S. government measured inflation the way that it did before 1980 the inflation rate would be much different. For example, Williams says that inflation rose at a 9.6 annual rate during the month of February using the old measurement. We can.....find solutions.

Since the average American household goes through about 750 gallons of gas a year, that means that in 2011 American families will spend somewhere around $750 more for gas. We hope you will take the journey with us. ~Telling the Story~ Some time ago, a friend of mine and his wife visited a major Maui tourist attraction called The Road to Hana. It comprised a long and winding road that, over the course of hours, took them through breathtaking scenery, waterfalls, cliffs, mountains, and beaches. At the end, there was nothing but the small town of Hana, with one gas station. When they finally arrived, my friend’s wife was very upset. She said, “We drove all of this way for this?” She missed the point. The Road to Hana is about the journey, not the destination. Don’t make the same mistake with The EOS Process. We hope you will take the journey with us. ~Traction~ The vision is clear, the right people are in the right seats, data is managed, you’re solving issues, you have defined your way of doing business and everyone is following it. Creating accountability, discipline and execution is where most weakness reveals itself. Traction is the ability to take a visionaries head out of the clouds and place it into clear action. Many are held back for the fear of creating discomfort, but with each hard step towards systematic success, things become straightforward even with contingencies and the tremendous peace of traction. From no accountability, poor communication, stagnation, chaos you will find just the opposite with traction. Accountability...
