We will be exploring these laws as a team this year.               The goal in the study is to help each of us learn how to grow and develop ourselves so we have the best chance of becoming the person we were created to be. ~ The Law of the Mirror ~               You must see value in yourself to add value to yourself. You will not give yourself time to grow if you think you are not worthy of it.               The “leadership lid” also works in the area of self-image. If from one to ten, my self-image is a three, what I’m able...

Business Tips : 13 RESOLUTIONS I look forward to a year that we can talk about culture and developing a workforce that has the upcoming 13 resolutions as a backbone for their lives. First off, resolutions are written resolves that are studied daily to help guide a person’s behavior while one is forming their fundamental character. Dictionary.com has several definitions of the term resolve, some of which are relevant when discussing life resolutions: 1. to come to a definite or earnest decision about; determine (to do something): I have resolved that I shall live to the full. 2. to deal with (a question, a matter of uncertainty, etc.) conclusively; settle; solve: to resolve the question before the board. 3. music to cause (a voice part or the harmony as a whole) to progress from a dissonance to a consonance. Resolution 1: Purpose I know that when my potential, passions, and profits intersect, my purpose is revealed. Why are people created? What is the purpose of one’s ...

Business Tips : DIALOGUE OVER DISCUSSION Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but there are limits to how far team members can take their opinions.  All too often, they forget to encourage a healthy dialogue and turn the conversation into a debate of one idea versus another.  Taken to the extreme,  they can dominate the discussion, hoping to gain support from the majority. Dialogue helps teams to open closed subjects, remove blocks to communication and heal rifts.  To build a climate that supports dialogue, try: ·        Asking Questions.   Clarify what others are saying and ask others if they understand what you are saying. ·        Making Suggestions.   Build on your team mates’ ideas.  Acknowledge their contributions and integrate their ideas into your suggestions. ·        Encouraging Others.   Not only have the courage to ex...

Business Tips : TWELVE CODES FOR SUCCESS I have used these many times in my life. I am not the best at them, but it is encouraging to see progress in them for my life with the specific intent of their implementation. 1. Learn to feed you sub-conscious along with your conscious mind. 2. Decide that character is more important than reputation. 3. Learn that attitude determines your altitude. 4. Learn that failure to plan is a plan for failure. 5. Learn that talent is a gift, but work ethic is a choice. 6. Learn to keep score of the results in the game of life. 7. Develop the art of leading people. 8. Learn that individuals grow, but teams explode. 9. Learn the secrets of emotional intelligence. 10. Develop the art and skills of conflict resolution. 11. Learn to confront the brutal reality. 12. Create a legacy, when you are blessed, be a blessing. Business Tips : MENTORSHIP Leaders have learned that people do not like dealing with uncomfortable truths of any size. Whether that truth is major (like the existence of God) or small (like miscommunication with a co-worker), people quickly suppress the truth, allowing themselves to be held blameless while the other party is held responsible for any issues. Consequently, most people never fulfill their leadership potential because they are too busy suppressing truth to learn from it. Wonder why people see others’ faults so clearly, yet have a hard time admitting their own? It’s hard. Imagine what could change in a person’s life if one could see their own areas of needed improvement as easily as they see others’. This is a VITAL part of the leadership journey and a HUGE part of a mentor’s role. People who run around blaming everyone but themselves for their current predicaments are hopelessly self-deceived through the repeated suppression of truth. Thankfully, few...
